This year’s AGM will take place in the clubhouse on Wednesday 7th June 2023 at 7pm.

Election of Committee
All management committee positions are up for election. The following information on the election is part of the constitution and gives details of due process. If anyone has any questions about any of the roles available please get in touch for more information.

A member wishing to stand for election as President, Secretary or Treasurer requires to lodge a written nomination signed by two Ordinary Members, together with written confirmation of their acceptance of the nomination, with the Secretary at least 7 days prior to the Annual General Meeting where the election of the Office of President, Secretary or Treasurer but can only be elected to one of such Offices.

Nominations for all posts on the Committee will be sent to the Secretary prior to the AGM This will, in the usual course of events, by way of a Nominations Notice posted in the Clubhouse. Nominations should be confirmed 1 week prior to the AGM

Proposed Changes
There are two proposed changes that will be subject to a vote in the AGM.

Movement to SCIO

This year we will be asking members to vote on moving our Youth Membership into a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). This is the first step in moving our playing part of the club to becoming a charity.

Changes to Membership Costs
The Management Committee recommends the cost of an ordinary membership should remain the same at £60.

We would like to propose that in order to (i) align the fees of all playing members and (ii) remain in line with inflation that players fees shall be set at £180 per annum. This is made up of £60 per annum for membership and £120 per annum in playing fees. There will no longer be collection of match fees as this is included in the playing fees.

A payment of £15 per month is favoured as this will allow automation in collection through the Clubs accounting system.

The Management Committee also propose that any family who are members of the Club and either play themselves or have children playing will pay no more than £480 per annum or £40 per month in fees.

The Management Committee will also try to find the most cost effective solution for an individual or a family as our belief is that rugby should be available for all participants regardless of financial situation and we encourage anyone who may struggle to meet the ongoing costs to contact a member of the Management Committee to seek a resolution.

In addition, Youth playing fees will be brought to align with the senior fee amount of £180 per year. There will be no separate flat fee for membership added. This reflects the substantial increase in costs for training facilities outside the club.

As per the constitution the AGM will be open to current members only. We look forward to being able to share our successes for the season and our plans for the future
