Livi make it 15 out of 15 this season with a successful New Year First Footing at old Friends Forresters

Livingston kicked off 2013 as they finished 2012 with another win taking the tally to 15 wins from 15 games this season. Although this was livingstons first competitive match since 11th November they continue their unbeaten streak with a 56-0 win over old friends Forrester.

Livingston enjoyed most of the possession in the opening minutes and put Forrester under a lot of pressure. Rustiness and a few mistakes perhaps stopped them from scoring earlier but eventually Gary Wilson showed some good power and pace for a big unit and crossed the line for livis first try of 2013. Jason watt scored from a line out quickly after taking the score to 10- 0 and the fans thought that the boys in blue were on easy street. A conversion and penalty from dean Edwards took the score to 15. Forrester however were tenacious in defence and managed to put a halt on the Livi train until a try from Jamie king just before half time took the score to 20 at the break.

Another try from King after the break when the utility player was moved onto the wing
and showed his gas to round his opposite man and touch down. King 1 minute later was instrumental in a score for Buchan who managed to outpace the opposition to score his first of the season and to take the score to 30. Shortly after, king, who has been a bit of a try scoring machine so far this season crossed the line for his hat trick. Edwards misses the conversion, the misses may be karma for recent conversations and bragging in the club!

Buchan managed to power over the line for his second and a score from Bolan who showed his intellegance by sniping and going over with Lee Barrett pulling defenders out of the way with a thundering dummy run. Cantley took over the kicking duties and slotted both conversions. The final score of the day was wilsons second, the big man picked an angle that sliced through the Forrester defence and he touched down. Cantley got the last conversion of the day taking the final score to 56-0.

Livingston are back to league duty next week at home against North Berwick who Livi only just beat 36-35 and who have also beat Livi's closet rivals Preston Lodge this season . Coach Graham Ferrier says "it is now when the boys need to put in the hard work. Spring is when the titles are won and lost. It's been great up until now but we need to keep the momentum going to make this season a success."
