Livingston RFC v Perthshire RFC

Livingston were unable to make it two wins fro two as they suffered a 25-7 defeat at Perthshire.

The visitors were forced into making several changes, with numerous players being promoted to the first XV. Despite that, it was the depleted livi who took the lead with the first try of the game through Ben shearer, with Kerr Anderson knocking over the additional two points.

Perthshire began to exert themselves and the pressure finally paid dividends when they levelled the score, despite some spirited defending. That's they way the game stayed until the second half. A yellow card for livi proved decisive as Perthshire added an unconverted try and a penalty to make it a two score game at 15-7.

Unfortunately for the visitors, one yellow card became two but the 13 men still battled hard.

The hosts were able to score another two tries, both unconverted to make the final score 25-7.

But it was a terrific performance for the Livingston side, who never gave up and showed that they will be a match for anyone in the third division.

This weekends contest sees Orkney visit almond park for the first time ever meeting between the two sides, kick off is 3pm.
