Andy McMahon became Captain fantastic on saturday with 4 tries in 8 try cross border raid

Contrary to reports in the Paper and SRU website Livi hit the half century on saturday with an 8 try victory over Berwick.

Berwick scored in the first 5 mins to take an early 5-0 lead , however we replied with an Andy McMahon try to bring the score to 5-7 , we were dominating the game but failed with the last pass on occasions , 10 minutes later Andy McMahon scored again to bring the score to 12-5 to us , however late in the second half Berwick hit back to tie the score at 12-12 which is how it finished at half time.

We kicked off in the second half with some added impetus knowing that we wanted to go into next week top of the table clash with Preston Lodge with a good win , The forwards were dominating their opposition at set pieces and were able to give the backs good ball , within 10 minutes of the restart Andy McMahon had his 3rd try of the day and with another Edwards conversion the Score was 19-12 , This gave Livi the push the needed to get the bonus point and Australian Aaron Johnston crossed not to long after , Edwards was successful again to take score to 26-12 and , Livi were now dominating all phases of play and amazingly McMahon who had not scored all season got his fourth try of the day after a powerful run through the centres , this brought the score to 33-12 , Edwards followed up the successful conversion with a penalty to make the score 36-12 , Livi were free running now and Aaron Johnston powered over for his second of the game bringing the score to 41-12 , credit to Berwick however as they never gave up and managed a consolation try to close the gap to 41-19 , however late on tries by Lee Barrett and Dean Edwards allowed Livi to come back over the border with a 53-19 victory , This was an important display ahead of next week and Captain Andy McMahon commented "It is fantastic testament to the hard work everyone is putting in to get a victory like this and personally pleasing to cross 4 the whitewash 4 times, However we need to now focus on Saturday and be up for our toughest test so far these are games we all play Rugby for and I hope the Livingston support can come out in force and get right behind us"
