Livingston made the long trip to Langholm on Saturday. A warm spring day and a dry hard pitch welcomed the Livingston to Langholm.
The away team started brightly when Jamie King crossed in the corner after some good hands by the Livi backs after less than a minute.
Livi then took their foot off the gas and a period of unremarkable rugby was broken when Livi centre Andy McMahon seared up the right wing and popped the ball over the Langholm defence to winger Mark Douglas to score for Livi. Livingston were not playing well and Langholm got back into the game with a try of their own before McMahon crossed for the first of his hat-trick of scores. Livingston never quite managed to put Langhom to the sword and it seemed that for every two tries Livi scored Langholm would bite back with a try of their own. Further tries from Craig Bolan, John Bruton and Aaron Johnston (2) helped Livi gain victory over a dogged Langholm side. The 34- 57 scoreline might suggest a walk in the park but this was far from a comprehensive victory for the Almond Park men. They made hard work, albeit against a determined side but Livi will know that this performance was far from a highlight of the season.
