Livingston RFC skipper Andy McMahon proudly lifted the West Lothian Rose Bowl after tasting victory over Linlithgow Reds - and admitted the win was mo

Livvy held on to the East Regional League Division One spot with a stunning win over West Lothian rivals Linlithgow Reds, who left Almond Park with what could prove a vital bonus point.
And Livvy captain McMahon said: “To get the fixture won and the points in the bag when it’s been such bad weather is a real plus.
“There’s always a bit of extra in these derby games.

“There’s always the history and it adds something to the game.
“If we had lost this game, the one on Monday wouldn’t have made much difference.
“The priority is the league this season. Murrayfield would be a nice sideline but at the end of the day these are the games that the season is all about.”
Livvy went into the encounter as favourites, having only lost one game all season, while Linlithgow have been battling against relegation.
But the form book was turned on its head when the Reds gave Livvy an early scare with a try 10 minutes into the encounter.
Chris Bredin burst through the Livingston defence, sucking in players, before finding Matt Dixon out wide who opened the scoring with a fine try which he successfully converted.
Livvy looked to hit back and were inches from bagging a try of their own, but the cold weather showed as poor handling saw Craig Bolan fail to catch John Bruton’s pass with the try-line at his mercy.
But soon Livvy were back on terms with Dean Edwards barging the ball home before McMahon sent the Blues into a 12-7 lead.
Bolan went over next as Livvy pulled away. But The Reds weren’t giving up and Andrew Wood crossed to cut the score to 17-14.
But Bolan was back in action, with another try before the break.
Edwards, Aaron Johnstone and Jamie King all crossed the line for Livvy before Ross Neil scored the try of the match with a run from inside his own half.
Ally Wood crossed for the Reds late on to give Linlithgow a key bonus point.
