Name: Cameron Johnstone McLeary
Nickname: Cammy
How long I have played for Livingston: I’ve played for Livingston for 14 years
Which movie character best describes me and why: Shrek, normally keep myself to myself a tad grumpy, but will do anything I can when the time is right. Small circle of friends and now with a family of my own
Likes and dislikes: I love my family, work and keeping fit, in that order. I have a passion for cars and learning new skills. I get a lot of satisfaction from finishing the day knowing something I didn’t the day before.
I cant stand snakes and spiders, if you want to see me become a big Jessy in 1 second flat then even a picture of either will do
Most memorable rugby moment: it has to be being fortunate enough to become the face of Scottish rugby for a brief moment in time. Being lucky to get the opportunity to toss the coin at the Calcutta cup and being in the tunnel on game day. Being able to share that moment with my dad and team mates mate it all the better. Not sure my ego needed the boost of having my face all over Murrayfield stadium but it certainly didn’t do it any harm.
Who is my livi hero: Barry Black, Barry has not only been a great influence on many players of my era but has helped many more in getting the most from their rugby. Over and all he has been a great friend to myself and to many others. He is a genuine man and would never walk past someone without saying hello, everyone is made to feel welcome when Barry is about. (just a note on Barry, he has to point out on each game I carry the ball in the wrong hand. But wouldn’t have it any other way)
Why am I proud of playing for livi: I’m proud to play for Livingston as my dad and uncles have all played for Livingston. It is a club that feels like a family and where everyone is welcome to try their hand at the game, we all love.
Something folk won’t know about me: I have a mild form of Tourette’s.
My goal for the season ahead: to help build a solid base for the young senior team that we currently have, also play my part in helping develop the squad and drive our performances
