We travelled to Grangemouth on Saturday for a hastily arranged friendly.
Stevie Logan, Mushy, Dougie and the Lairds returned after lengthy spells out with injury.
We started brightly and spent most of the first fifteen minutes in the opposition half taking the lead through a try by Mark Douglas after good forward pressure. Conversion by Ewan Naysmith. 7-0 to Livi.
Some slack defensive play allowed Grangemouth to hit back with a try of their own also converted to bring the score to 7-7. This was not the most memorable of games to watch as both sides constantly infringed throughout the whole game. The score remained 7-7 at half time.
The second half was similar to the first with both sides attacking when they were allowed to but too many unforced errors were made, knock ons and forward passes were the order of the day. As the match headed into the last 5 minutes Livi struck with a second try by Mark Douglas again converted beautifully by Ewan to make the score 14 – 7 to Livingston.
The last few minutes were spent in our half but some sound defence stopped any chance Grangemouth had of scoring any more points.
Final score 14 – 7 to Livingston.
