2nd XV v Ross High

The team, from memory (so apologies if i miss anyone), was:

Me, Daniel Sumpter, Neil Gibson, Stuart James, Robin Barbero, Colin Cantley, Callum Sumpter, Jamie Millar, Grant Cantley, Stuart Mushet, Callum Buchanan, Kenny Boyle, Ronnie Dow, Colin, Calvin and Paul.

We went up 5-0 when Callum Sumpter kicked the ball up and over the back of a ruck on the 22. It bounced nicely into his hands as he chased and he went over on the 15 to the right of the posts. Conv missed due to the wind.

Ross High hit back with a try and conversion about 5 minutes later and managed another 5 points before getting a player sent off for head-butting Callum Buchanan right in front of the ref.

5 minutes or so before half time, Robin Barbero took a crash ball and done well to go through 2 players before handing off to Paul who finished off the remaining 5 yards. Colin Cantley made the kick, although some Livi players were surprised it was given as it appeared to go over the top of the post. Again the wind causing problems.

12-12 at half time.

2nd half, Ross high had their share of possession and territory but couldn't do anything with it due to being a man down.

Livi went over the line 10 minutes in but the ref judged the ball to have been held up, though Calvin was adamant he got it scored.
Colin Cantly again put the ball between the posts from a penalty shortly after to make it 12-15 to Livi and a further try followed soon after which was not converted.

12-20 it finished despite Ross High’s best effort s to narrow the score-line and a try scoring opportunity for Livi stopped short as the ref blew for a forward pass. In Gibby’s words, ‘not sure if it was forward, but it wisnae very backwards’
