On a bright sunny day we welcomed Inverleith to Almond Park for our final league game of the season.

Both teams began strongly but as has been the way of it all season we started to take control and the tries began to come. Robbie Wilson finished off a good move by crashing over in the left corner Callum Sumpter landed a great conversion making the score 7–0 to Livingston. Second on the score sheet was Kristjen Gamble with an unconverted try to bring the score to 12-0 . The third try was scored by Ian Simmonds but again the difficult conversion was missed taking the score to 17-0. Captain Stuart Mushet scored next after neat work by the forwards.
Unusually all 4 of these tries were scored wide out on the left hand side. Neil Gibson came off the bench to score on the right and this time Sumpter landed a great conversion bringing the score to 29-0 to the home team.
Some silly defensive work resulted in Inverleith being awarded a penalty try duly converted making the score 29-7. Graeme Steel completed the try scoring by sneaking in at the posts and again Sumpter converted. Half time score Livingston 36 -7 Inverleith.

The second half continued in much the same way with tries coming at regular intervals. Gibby scored his second of the game wide out on the right, the conversion was missed. Score now 41-7.
Mark Douglas was next on the score sheet after great handling down the right. Gibby completed his hat trick by scoring out wide again. Both conversions were missed but the score had now risen to 51-7 to the home team. Collin Cantley then scored a great individual try sidestepping his way in from 30 metres. Sumpter converted this one. Inverleith kept plugging away and eventually scored an unconverted try. Gamble then scored his second of the match again converted by Sumpter to make the final score Livingston 65-12 Inverleith.

What a fantastic season the 2nds have had winning every league game (2 leagues) with a full set of bonus points. Captain Stuart Mushet was presented with the shield just before the 1st team match. In what was a brilliant 3 hours the under 18’s won their second trophy of the season, we got ours and the 1sts won the league and got their second trophy of the season. Congratulations to all for a great season for the club.

Finally, congratulations to Mushet for making the final 22 for the shield final against Marr.
