Livingston RFC Ps7s welcomed Lenzie RFC P7s to a sunny and crisp Almond Park. LRFC P7s warmed up in their usual way to get them game ready with a 11am kick off. Due to numbers it was decided to play 12 a side with two 20 minute halfs with an additional 10 minutes at the end. It was great to get some competitive rugby after the last two being called off and their was plenty of game time for all!
Livingston got off to a fine start with all players getting involved with some very good handling, rucking and running rugby which meant Livingston went in at half time 6-1 up. The Lenzie try being a break and some great running from one of their players who managed to avoid a number of tackles showing great pace to touch down for their only try of the half. The 2nd half Lenzie came back and with some good handling and running on both sides and a real competitiveness in the ruck made it a closer affair. With the addition of another 10 minutes Livingston added another 4 tries to their 6 ending the day with 10 tries and Lenzie scoring 6. The try scorers for Livingston were Matthew Hill running in 5, Ross Morrison and Toby de Mora with 2 a piece and Jude Edwards with 1. All tries were very well taken with some very good team play leading up to all tries. Man of the match will be announced at Wednesdays training session.
Livingston also were also in a position to lend a number of players to Lenzie. They were Sam Forster, Ryan Boyd, Toby de Mora, and Mathew Hill. Thanks go to them for putting themselves forward.
The Livingston P7 coaches were delighted with all the players contribution and pleased to see much of what Is being coached demonstrated in a competive game. Well done Livingston RFC P 7s!
